A.I. Servo for processional/recessional, single shot otherwise.

The 5d3 is money on moving subjects.

^^^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^

the 5D3 does not miss a moving target in servo. Its the first camera i've ever owned thats this accurate. Also, with a Macro.. OMG,,locks locks locks In low light, its also very fast and accurate.

If Im In one shot. i feel a noticeable delay to lock. Not as bad as the MKIV, but its there... problem solved with servo. 1Dx does the same exact thing. So, ive started using servo for the dance stuff that i can get in there and track. Ive tried the trick of holding the camera up and locking focus ad clicking away...way too many misses in servo. One shot and back button works better here.

I user center focus. I focus where the jacket and shirt meet.

I just had a revelation!

I can remember the photographer in my own wedding moving the camera down on the garment before every shot he got...

I never really understood why, I then forgot about it. If he was metering light he would not have done so before every single shot. So he must have been focusing. Razor sharp pictures by the way...

But how come???

its these comments that are going to cost me a fortune ;-)a

I don't mind AI Servo on the 5D2 when using the 35L, 24-70L or 70-200L... with the Sig85, not so much...

I never used Servo with my 5D2 very much. Basically the bride/groom, etc moving down the isle. Never had an issue with it. I use my 7D for birding and sports. I am looking forward taking a crack @ this with my 5D3.

One shot 100% of the time. I don't like changing settings at all, changing iso, aperture and shutter speed is enough for me to hadle. BTW I don't have issues at all using one shot during processional etc.
