Thanks Maureen, the building in the distance, though it looks like a Church is in fact the former Simsbury, CT town hall, it is still owned by the town and used for meetings and such. When I was growning up it was also the local movie theater. The Town Hall is now in my old high school. the name is Winston but they call me Sandy

This could have been a matter of respect or protection against flooding. In New Orleans, of course, many of their cemeteries were in the lowest areas, requiring above ground crypts to protect against flooding. Even that wasn't enough. Of course back when they were first established, it wasn't the prime real estate, most of the people had farms and wanted the flat land. the name is Winston but they call me Sandy
