Yes, post some photos first so we can work on the solution.

The 550D/T2i is a very popular and capable camera. I used to own one. Great photos, pretty much on par with my 7D. What the 7D can give you is a lot more options (which it seems at this point you need to avoid), to increase the chances of shooting more CHALLENGING scenarios successfully compared to the 550D (higher fps, much more sophisticated AF system, more durable, more weatherproof construction, etc.)
It is highly unlikely but possible that your 550D may need service (calibration), but first we have to look at your photos and I'm sure it will come down to settings, improper usage etc., no offense :)

I can tell right now you need to learn post processing, most images, especially raw come out of the camera dull, almost all need to be processed properly.

can u pls explain what can be the reason.:oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:

You are the reason unfortunately. Stop spending money on gear, spend money on the book "understanding exposure" by Bryan Peterson, it will help you far more than a 7D and it costs far less.

Your 550D is capable of taking amazing pictures and it has the exact same sensor as the 7D.

Please post some images and tell us what settings you use. Additionally, all images from DSLR cameras need a bit of post-processing. However, there is no reason that your images should be "that bad" straight out of the camera unless it is operator problems. However, your body "could" possibly be the cause...

A Nikon executive recently stated, "If you are not getting great pictures with any modern DSLR camera, the fault is not with the camera!"

Charly, welcome to POTN and please don't be discouraged or put off by the good-natured ribbing.

The "experts" that you referred to in your post are definitely here, definitely knowledgeable and definitely able to help you to become a better photographer.

Post some shots as suggested and I'm certain that you will get good, usable answers to your questions.

One thing I have noticed especially from those just moving to a DSLR for the first time is that they are disappointed because the pictures lack the punched up saturation and contrast that most P/S cameras use as a standard setting. This is easily alleviated by setting the picture style so that contrast, sharpness, and saturation are pumped up rendering a much more P/S look.

But as mentioned, please post an example. There are times that bodies are missing focus or the settings being used not appropriate for the image but without a sample clearly showing the issue, there is no way to help other than guess.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

If I was the OP I would buy a Nikon and go to another forum, after the flame job he had from some of the posts.

He is new and had a question. If you look on this forum, in general, the pics get better as you look on the specific posts about more expensive cameras. Because in general people grow into the gear. I am an exception, I am an amature with decent gear and most of my shots suck. I can see the tendency to want to point to the gear and not yourself in creating images.

OP post up a couple of examples and tell us, ok just some of us ignore the others, what you expected or wanted out of the shot.

+1

This post doesn't sound serious to me... sounds like someone just out there to stir things up. It's an amusing story that the user spends so much money buying different lenses, but doesn't attempt to learn how to use his camera?

Nevertheless, I'm happy to be wrong, and I'm sure people here would be glad to help him out if his serious.
