This is a logo I developed for my own photography business; my name is Nicholas Zalud. My photography style is oriented toward concerts and extreme sports.

This design was developed as a watermark and, with time and a few modifications, I've come to think it usable as a logo.

So your company name is "PHOTO"?

Based on the logo I also have no idea what you even do. Maybe not even take photos. Who knows.

Not a very good logo.

Mate, sorry I really don't like it. Help me out, is your business called 'photo' because that is all I see.

I think the concept is nice but judging by the comments, I don't think anyone notices that the logo shows your initials. You may want to keep the concept but make the initials more noticable.

The symbol is supposed to be an 'NZ'. I have been worried about it coming through clearly but my rationale leads me to think that a connection will be made when it's seen on a business card or read with my introduction (which was, in this case, unsuccessful).

Thanks for the commentary!

I don't care for it, looks too much like an upsdie down peace symbol, and the NZ is not apparent unless you know it is there.

My first real camera was a Canon F1. That was a long time ago.

I've also done a version where the N & Z are connected...I'll post it up when I get home.

You need to have your name spelled out if you're going to use the logo. It's just not clear enough.

If your background is not in graphic design, then I would definitely err on the side of 'simplicity' for your logo. Otherwise, you will not be doing the professionalism of your business any favors. While I see what you were attempting, its just not easily legible. You may just want to pick a suitable font and just spell out your name + "photography" and keep it at that.

I see the initials when someone mentioned it, still took me 10 seconds though. I understand the concept, I just think it is too much and too one dimensional. Try again.

I also did not see the connection in the initials. I even thought it might be your initials, and still didn't see it until now. If you're dead set on this symbol, I would agree with the poster above who mentioned to include your fully spelled out name in the logo. Perhaps between the symbol and the word photo, keeping the overall width in line with rest of the logo.

i think it's a neat concept, if you modify it a little to look more like a "N" and "Z"...as is, even knowing it's there, it's hard to see. I think the middle of the letter is too fat??

I agree, after reading the posts I know there is supposed to be an N & Z but I don't see them.
I'd suggest starting over with something completely different. Even with a N Z somewhere noticeable I don't think it would make a compelling statement for a logo.

I also don't see the NZ in the logo.

This makes my eyes hurt...I can see the NZ (blockish type letters) but it hurts. No bueno...sorry bud. I'd suggest trying something else.
