I don't know much about the C/Y lenses. This price seems too good. I would buy to adapt to EOS. Any foreseeable issues?

What specific deal are you talking about?

There are some very good C/Y lenses out there - 50 1.7, 35-70, 100 Makro, 21 Distagon. Sometimes the difference in price makes it worthwhile to skip the modern ZE equivalent and in other cases (like the 35-70) there is no modern equivalent. But sometimes, the price is close enough to a ZE version where it just makes sense to get the newer lens.

Many of the C/Y lenses are very good if you are OK with manual focus (you can get a focus confirm chip to install), it just depends on which specific lens and what the price is. The worst part about these lenses is that they are older and it may be difficult to find a place that does repairs on malfunctioning or damaged lenses - especially a concern since these lenses are older and even the best copies have probably seen considerable use.

The link wasn't there before for me, looks good now. I'd bite on it for around this price but I bet it goes up significantly. Might want to remove the link now or else you're advertising for the seller and you'll pay more for it.

Love my 50 1.7 and my 35-70.

Edit: As far as issues, spend the money on a decent adapter as the cheap ebay ones seem to suck more often than not.

Love the 50/1.7 and 28/2.8. Also loved the 85/2.8, but had strange problems focusing it and the 135/2.8 on my 5D at the time and sold them as Canon alternatives are very good and AF. Still have and use the wider ones. The 25/2.8 has a poor reputation, which I confirmed for myself with a buy/sell.

Never played with the faster versions for what I do.

I currently own a 35mm f/2 ZE. I love it. I love Zeiss lenses in general. But, I do mostly video and want a lens that has an aperture ring. I want to get a set of the Zeiss C/Y lenses and use these adapters: http://www.leitax.com …es-for-Canon-cameras.html (external link)
Anyone have experience with them? Also, has anyone had experience with de-clicking a C/Y lens?
