KAC Oddly, I didn't see a single bird the whole time I was out there! Guess the 40 mph winds were too much for them.

The way it glowed is what caught my eye ![]() I understand what you're saying and this is something that I always find interersting in how incredible the human eye/brain is. I still see things that my eye/brain is saying, "Wow, how cool, that would make a great picture." but the limitations of film/sensors never seem to live up to it. That's where learning to see the way the camera see's comes in. Understanding the limitations of exposure/contrast, framing etc. etc. a never ending process so it seems. Kenny A. Chaffin

In every image you set up, you should check to see that there is a single part, or more than one that are interesting and different, that will draw the viewer's eye. With this photo, although it is obvious that the tree is the subjet, the viewer's eye just wanders across it, looking for something that stands out and finding nothing special. Now if you liked the way that this particular tree "stood out", you should have conveyed that interest by taking a wider shot wherein the tree stood out from the rest of the trees on the same focal plane as it. This way you could have showed how this one tree was interesting. Next time you go out to take photos, keep this in mind. Hope my comments were helpful! It is just frustrating to get what what I see or have in my head out. I paint and draw some too, not much tho as I can't get what I see in my head out and it irritates me until I just give up.... Now,thats where i believe you are wrong,it shouldn`t irritate you, instead, you should try and see what you are doing wrong and try to find a different aproach, try different things, but never give up. I am so new to this world and overwhelmed and I want to do so much.... Ha ha ha, My site

I know it doesn't help much to say that. But keep in mind that photography is an art form, there are rarely a right and a wrong way to approach something. what one person hates another person will consider gold. this doesn't work for me because there's no focal point and there isn't much of a composition. but you saw something and made an attempt. that's what counts. Great things can come from trying. Good luck, hope to see more from you. Sari. Canon 30D BG_E2 Grip Rebel XT BG-E3 battery grip
