I live in SC. This past weekend I saw my first Red Breasted Grosbeak, ever.

This has me looking for other birds that may be headed south this year which will be my first fall for watching and photographing birds.

Any of you in the southeast know what maybe passing through in the next few months?

I also live in SC, on the coast. Fall and winter can bring groups or pairs of American Avocet to my area and occasionally other shorebirds not seen here any other time of year. It's a challenge to find them at times but when I do it can turn out to be a life first. A few years back I found a Hudsonian Godwit and a Common Eider late in the year which was very cool. Last year's mild winter didn't force many of the ducks south that ordinarily visit for the winter so the numbers were way down. I don't spend much time chasing songbirds so I can't be much help with those. I'm sure others will be by soon with more info.

I'm upstate, doubt I'll ever see those, had to look them up. Thanks for the reply, Steve.

Would like to see some snow this year. Some of the birds I've seen online look great in the cold surroundings. Also it might bring in more to the feeder and maybe some of those never seen before.

This site has some info on the migrations:

Also you should see hawks, ducks, geese and Osprey migrating through SC in the Fall.
Search on Google for more migration info.

Nice, I put that in the favorites, I'll look up those birds and know ahead of time if I spot one.

Thanks again Jerry

You should get lots of Green-wing Teal and Wood Ducks. Many of those that nest in eastern Canada often winter in the Carolinas & Florida.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

The Wood Duck is a colorful bird, would love to get close to one of those.
