Any one else experience this ? It will auto focus close up, but past 10 meters it will just hunt. Manual focus works fine. It will indicate when in focus. I suppose this isn't just dirty contact or something alike.

Oct 02, 2012 18:31 | #3 Anything from trees to house in various lighting. This was my first L and is still my favorite lens. Don't have the change to purchase IS version. I'm pretty sure the auto focus assembly needs replaced. I'm guessing 350.00. Canon 40D, 5D MK II

Haven't had a chance to take any pics yet in good light... 7dmkii, 50D, XSI (dead), EOS 1V-HS, EOS 3, 70-200L 2.8 non-is, Sigma 17-50 2.8, canon 85 1.8, 18-55 kit lens, yongnuo 685 550ex.
