I see this year they are formally allowing camera equipment at Hardley Strictly Bluegrass (external link). I don't recall that policy in years past. I've been threatened to be thrown out for shooting a few years back. Maybe they realize they are never going to stop all the IPhones and have simply given up. I'm looking forward to the shows this year. God rest Warren...

Every year they both go on at the same time. I just ride my bike in and all is good once you are there.

Thanks for the recommendation but I gotta shoot Sara Watkins at the same time, she ends a bit earlier but I'll try and make it over to that stage for the latter part of their show.

Why would they not be on this bill?

Bristly, hmmm. Sounds like my kind of stuff. I respect your opinion but I wish I hadn't made plans for Sara Watkins already. Checked them out on YouTube, fabulous!

Based on your recommendation, I think I'll be there. I leave town on Sunday, so will make good use of the filler day. What a week to be here in San Fran.

I'm researching the bill for acts I'd like to see. Will bring the usual gear but going with a mix of observing and will shoot when the mood strikes.

I hope you made it there a truly fantastic event every year. And every year I discover new great talent. This year my award goes to Amanda Shaw a young 19 year old (I think) violin virtuoso. This gal rocked the place and blew the (outdoor) house down with versions of Should I Stay or Should I Go (external link) and the Devil Went Down to Georgia (external link) as well as many originals. Here are a few shots:
