I tried a different approach (at least for me) to converting this one. First I seperated the hands from the background, then I burned the sky to make it really blue and the clouds darker. Then I converted each layer seperatly using the image factory. Each using a different pre filter and contrast settings. I also unsharpen masked each layer seperatly. I like the results. Too bad I only have two days left with PS.

Much better I love the removed lil" clouds on the sky, and smooth image alltogether, better contrast...good stuff!
