A big nasty black circle, it's what you get obviously. But I was thinking that with a bit of crop, you could probably get it near to 35-36mm and get an usable image for street photography or other black and white use.

The Sigma is 330$ and the ef35L is 1534$. That's why I am tempted! The others options -28mm f1.8, 35mm f2- are nice but not f1.4.

I wish I could see a full size sample of this unusual combination. Corners softness, you know...

Canon 6D | S35mm f1.4 | 135mm f2 The rest: T3i, 20D, 15mm f2.8, 15-85mm, 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 90mm f2.8 macro, 55-250mm.
So long and thanks for all the fish

Correction: No third party lens is actually EF-S mount.

They have their own crop sensor designation (Sigma calls theirs DC), but all the physical mounts are actually EF on all third party lenses. This means they should mount fine and work for the most part on fullframe bodies.

Canon EF-S lenses on the other hand, are a physically different mount, where the rear element is inset significantly more than an EF lens, and thus will cause damage to fullframe bodies.

I stand corrected! thanks for the info.

Just found a comparison but there's somthing I dont understand...

I was expecting a bigger difference in the bokeh size.

Edit: Ha! the 5d pict is a f2.5 while the 40D is at f1.4.

Edit2: The Samyang 35mm f1.4 is certainly a better option quality wise but no AF... Hopefully the new Sigma 35mm f1.4 will be under 700$...
