So there's a thread for the younglings and another one for the oldies, so how about we start a thread for the Ladies? :D Shout out to all the ladies in the house, let's share photos, tricks, bags, make-up tips and everything else under the sun :)

Is this where we hide the best photos on POTN? LOL! I'm in.....

Maybe we should start with a quick intro of ourselves. I am in my 50's, have 1 husband, 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 grandsons and a 3rd grandson due on Thanksgiving. I joined POTN 8 1/2 years ago to learn how to use a DSLR and figure out what gear to buy. I shoot weddings, babies, newborns, kids, and endless vacations shots. I would love to be a good bird photographer but I don't have the patience or equipment for it. :) Last year I retired after 27 years as a Registered Nurse & I take care of grandkids as needed & take photos often. :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

I'm 43, I work as a technical writer and programmer. I like to photograph the night sky, although I am not very good at it! Some of my most satisfying photographs have been holiday snaps.

Hi, my name is Andrea, I'm 43, married with three children, two grown and one still at home. I've been a member here for a few years now. I've been shooting portraits, weddings etc...for most of 8 years and have recently started venturing into the sports area since my grandson is now playing football.

Hi ladies! :D Another female here; I'm 37, have a hubby, a few cars and been on POTN since 2008 (ever since I got my Canon gear). My favorite type of photography is actually very un-feminine: I shoot racecars ;)

Hi all! Looks like I'm the newbie of the group. I'm almost out of my 40's have a hubby, no two legged kids, but four four legged ones. They are my photo subjects as well as wildlife and landscapes (but I don't have the best set up for the last two).

And Tessa, I would love to shoot racecars, but we seldom (read never) get the photo op around here. We've been to a few NASCAR events, but not since I got my DSLR.

Tessa, that sounds like a fun gig! Btw, I'm planning on heading over to singapore next year to checkout their F1 night race. Any recommendation for a good noise canceling headphone? ;)

I've been shooting racing for almost ten years now. When I was a kid I loved horses and wanted to be a rider, but was never any good at it, no matter how much I tried. So somehow I found cars and never looked back :)

It's funny when I meet new people and the subject of photography comes up - because I'm a woman, everyone instantly assumes I shoot weddings. Well, apart from one guy who thought I was a photographer for Playboy  (the logic of men...) It's funny to see their reaction when I tell them I shoot motorsports.

The last time I went to see F1 was almost 15 years ago (wow, it's really been that long?). When all the cars revved up for the start the noise was literally deafening - my ears are still ringing... ouch. I can't unfortunately recommend any headphones, since I don't shoot the noisier stuff (like drag cars), but it's good to have at least a pair of foam earplugs.

Maureen - my hubby is a car crazy man too, so we make a good pair :)
