Nice. I am in Grand Haven and did a shoot in Kalamazoo last week. We're almost neighbors.;)

Yes we are ;) My parents lived in Spring Lake at one time.

Welcome Robin! We are always glad to have newcomers to this thread. Am getting ready to go pick up my grandsons & head to eldest daughter's soccer game. Have a great day everyone!

Great pics, Robin! Love the one with the Cardinals especially. So much colour in what looks like a Winter world. And there's a female too! Just lovely.

We had our youngest grandson all day today so his parents could finish unloading the moving truck (they moved to a new house but still here in town). We had a bath before mommy came to pick him up & had a very wet but fun time. I took a small mountain of snaps as we progressed.

Thank you for those kind words - appreciate it! I do love the cardinals and how they just pop on a dreary wintery day.

What are we doing down on page two Ladies? where is everyone? hopefully you are all out taking lots of lovely photos.
Not been up to much here lately - I organised a fundraising auction for a doggy charity and raised over £1500 so that's taken up a lot of my time the last few weeks. It was great though and one of my murmuration images raised £70 - and then I gave away a session at my studio which was £80 and a tutorial with me which went for £60. Thankfully the person who won that has a Canon so hopefully I'll be able to work it!
The weather in Surrey, UK is fairly drab at the moment but it's looking like cold frosty weather is on it's way which is better for photos eh.

You sound very busy indeed, Penel. Great to have raised so much money! And teaching now too. Impressive!

I've not been doing much and not really shooting anything. I did buy another Samyang 14mm f/2.8 lens though. Maybe you remember I bought one back in September I think it was and didn't quite know what to do with it and returned it? Well, there was also a little matter of the lower right corner being consistently soft and smeared and some tests revealed a misaligned lens, so I returned it, thinking it was for the best anyway. But as soon as it was gone I regretted not having it any more, so I picked up a new copy a while ago and this one seems alright. And so what I have been doing is making test shots of nothing really. Like this one from my living room on the third floor, just before night fall.

And I really do suck at landscapes... But I'm quite cheerful about that! :D

Nice to see this thread is still sort of alive ;) I am busy taking pictures for High School Seniors and family Christmas stuff but yesterday my daughter dressed up Tristan for his First Birthday photos & we took a bunch of pictures in the backyard. He is very busy so getting a handful of in focus shots was a challenge as he cares more about eating the leaves & chasing the cat.

you don't suck at landscapes - this is perfectly fine! good that you returned the faulty lens and even better you bought a new one! I wonder how much you will use it though… (I'm not really teaching, I'm just going to give someone some tips on how to take better shots of their dog!)

Aww Maureen this is a really cute shot, what a big grin he has on his face. Happy Birthday Tristan!
