10 sounds like a lot of fun. I have 3 and there is rumbling of a couple more for 2014. All mine live here nearby & I am lucky enough to see them frequently as I do babysitting as often as I can get it.
Well I took a giant leap this week & put in for my lifetime retirement from my employer. I could wait 8 years & get a larger sum but the reduced sum now means I will get more in the long run so after hemming & hawing about it for a while, my hubby convinced me to take it early. Feels weird that I will truly be retired from Nursing which I started into in 1983!
Unfortunately, 7 of my grandchildren now live in Alabama, I usually just see them once of twice a year.
Congratulations! I retired July 1st of this year, at the age of 59.5. I, too, could have waited, but we had a great pension plan that allowed for early retirement. It is wonderful - lots of time for hobbies, grandkids and every thing else. I now pick my 8 year old granddaughter up from school each day.
A new chapter is about to begin in your life. I hope you immensely enjoy it.
