My niece Brianna! She was waiting very patiently in the waiting room last night for her baby brother Preston Riley to be born. She rarely ever takes a bad picture! I had a very hard time trying to get photos in the Labor and Delivery room with my 85mm but I managed a few decent shots for my Brother and his wife. I will be repurchasing the 50mm for situations like this!!! I haven't taken many "people" shots. I am enjoying learning.

I personally like buying gifts for the underprivileged kids. Some years we have adopted a whole family but I couldn't find anyone doing that here this year. So I did find 2 boys ages 6 & 7 and 2 girls, ages 7 & 8 to buy toys, new pajamas and a warm coat for. I will wrap them all & deliver them next week. We have so much & we don't need a thing so I feel better about buying for those in need.

Penel, lovely little Corgi (I think).
Linss: Great shots! Yes, buy yourself the 50/1.4. I love that little beast & can always count on it.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

For any wedding photographers on this thread, what shoes do you wear? I have flat slip-ons for the more adventurous couple sessions, but generally wear low heels (mid height) for the rest of the day. I would like to wear comfortable flats during the day (I generally wear long dark pants), but the flats I've tried don't look stylish enough. It doesn't help that I am short as well (5'3").

Don't mention Christmas shopping yet Maureen - I have bought some random bits and pieces but have yet to decide who I shall give what!!! probably not the best way of doing it!

I'm of no help here, but I'm also 5'3" :D

Not much for me to add. I have a cold, but I have to get ready to go to Vegas on Thursday. The timing sucks, but my husband is roping in the World Series Team Roping next Sunday and this is a HUGE deal for him. What I really need to do is suck it up and get my chores and laundry done so we are ready to go at the crack of dawn (or before) on Thursday.

I wear flats: Clark's Bendables. I own several pair including low pumps that are very comfortable for all day use. I am 5'5".

Thanks. It's nice to know there's a few other vertically challenged photographers around.

Comfortable footwear is such a priority if you're on your feet for a long time.

Stina - best of luck to your husband - it sounds like a big deal - will you be taking photos, I hope so!

The six dogs went really well, although it was a long old day for me - she arrived about 11am and left at 530, we had lots of breaks though and it was great fun. I"ve only had time to process a few of the shots - we didn't shoot any of the dogs together, all singly which was a relief as they were all extremely high energy and bouncing around as you will see when I post shots later on!

Here's a couple of more relaxed ones for starters!

2 of my babies cancelled this week, everyone has a cold & runny nose so we will try again next week. In the meantime, Grace came along:

Ah no, Jo! The first doggie is smiling after he has just told a joke and the second one gets it and is laughing out loud!

Great shots, Penel.

And sweet baby shots, Maureen.

LOL Levina! You're right! :)

Mo, it's no wonder you get the colds dealing with the babies! Beautiful and peaceful shots of Grace ..

Lucky for me I'm not out much. I've prolly lost all my immunity buddies! I've been so cold/flu free .... knock Wood ;)

Oh, and by the by Penel. I think your logo/watermark is one of the most tasteful and pretty I may have ever seen. Did you design/create it?

It has been rainy and gloomy around here this weekend. I found a little ray of sunshine at my brothers. Preston is the sweetest little baby! I know these are not professional quality photos, but we had so much fun!

My 50mm 1.4 will be here next week!!! :D
