Wondering what straps or slings etc. other ladies have tried for their cameras. I've heard many good things about Black Rapids, but haven't given them a go yet. I picked up an inexpensive cross body sling made by case logic that is decent. Sits nicely across me even though I'm well-padded ;) It does have a padded wider section that sits in the shoulder which is nice. Do you ladies think it makes a difference to use a strap specifically made for women? Show or tell me about your favourite straps or slings or even the ones you hated, lol!

I use a Black Rapid strap and love it. I don't like the weight of the camera hanging from my neck, having the strap pull at my hair, or having the camera swing forward if I have to bend over. The BR strap is off the neck, holds a good amount of weight, and is easy to adjust. I can have the speed light on the camera and it will just hang upside down by my side. If I have to bend over, I can just push the camera behind my back. You can have the camera hang down at your hip, or up under your arm. I've even tightened it right up and rode my bike with my camera sitting at my chest, easily took one handed shots from chest level while riding.

That's a big one for me when I do macros of bugs, because I'm often shooting something on the ground or on low vegetation. A camera on a long strap is as unhandy as a shoulder bag for getting up and down.

My better camera is only a Canon G15, which is smaller than the DSLRs that most people here use most of the time. I don't use any kind of strap. I carry the G15 in a homemade bag, an informal purse, that hangs from a sort of belt. So the camera is on my hip when not in use.

The bag is functional rather than dressy. Here's an old photo of it. It's on a different strap now.

Just the regular original one. I've had it for quite awhile now. I see on the website that they have quite a few options now.

I have used my extensively. When I've gone on vacation my camera has been hanging from it for days on end and I've never had a problem with it, and it doesn't show any wear.

Sorry, I've missed this place. How is everyone these days?

I short a wedding a month or so ago and it was the only one I did this year due to pain in my left knee. Well, I injured it more for the day long wedding and then a graduation event after. I must have been on my feet for over 12 hours and finally, killed the knee. MRI and surgery later, I'm recovering well. PT next and then back to my routine. This time, with little pain. Torn meniscus, which usually can be treated with PT, but the pain was too much for me, especially since I am such an active person. I hope to be back on track here to do more photography as I start moving around again.

Heal quickly Suzie & join us more often.

Today was Aaron's 13th birthday & as usual he wanted his friends over at my house. Luckily there were only 4 of them :p What a great kid he is; he certainly has added to much to our lives.
