Maureen, have you tried Vicks on your feet for your cough? At least at night when you sleep. I saw it a couple times online and finally tried it, it does work. Just apply to the bottoms of your feet, rub it in and put a pair of socks on. It really works.

Errr Chet, is this for real? Coughing here right now and don't want my wife laughing hysterically if I try it!

Lynn, glad you & Craig are getting over those colds; I am still coughing so that makes 3 months for me now. Just ridiculous.

That sounds more like flu. I had flu once that left me coughing for weeks after the other symptoms had faded out.

Chet, I actually have; went through a whole jar. I have tried prescription cough suppressants, antibiotics (x3), hot packs & mustard packs on my chest and still coughing.

I feel completely fine except for the hacking. Weird.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear I'm not the only one hacking. Hopefully we all get better soon. For the dry cough I take a spoon full of honey before bed.

People swear by it. The scientist people say that there's absolutely no evidence that it works, but it seems to be one of those old wives tales that works for some people. Personally, vicks vaporub does nothing for me. If I hold the jar right under my nose, it may work a little bit, but nothing beyond that.

NyQuil is my drug of choice. And Halls. And hot tea or very, very cold Coke. I find Coke is the only thing that cuts through all the crud and helps clear and numb my throat, but it needs to be just on the edge of freezing.

I've been down with a cold all week too. Went skiing on Saturday and felt just fine. Sunday I was sore and tired, and then by evening I knew I was getting sick. Spent the whole week feeling miserable. Went to volleyball Thursday night, only because I'm the team captain and have the ball. I made it through, barely. Friday I felt absolutely horrible. Yesterday wasn't nearly as bad, and today I made it out to church.

This has been the winter of the sickest in our family. The grandkids have had more sick days than well ones; last night I babysat at our daughter's & Tristan woke up with a fever & his ear hurting only 2 hours after he went to bed feeling fine. I have a sore throat today but not much; hoping it is weather related.

Today is Ella's first birthday; this picture capture her spunkiness perfectly. She says lots of words very clearly; All done, Thank-you, Bye Bye, Doggie & Set....Go!! She is so cute.

Now, for a truly sad story. I had a newborn here for a photo shoot today & it went beautifully. Every position worked, he had 5 outfit changes and we got so many cute poses. After they left, I went to upload the pictures and there was no card in my camera.

Talk about sick to my stomach! I called the mom right away & luckily she was great about it. They are coming back tomorrow for a freebie. She said the baby is always good & sleeps easily so she wan't too upset about it but I had a good cry. I have been doing this 13 years and never have had this happen before.

I set my camera to not take a picture without a card. It just yells at me till I put a card in. Glad that mom was ok with it, and that baby is easy!

Probably that cold Maureen, maybe you are more worn down than you realise. Glad the mum is cool about it. I did that with my neice's Christening many years ago, film wasn't wound on the reel properly, realised when I got to 40 on a 36 shot film that something was badly wrong! ߘ

Well at least it wasn't a wedding where there are no do-overs. That baby won't change between yesterday & today. Hopefully all will go smoothly.

Neil Rice sent me a message that he shot a whole roll of film at a wedding years ago & it wasn't locked in properly. Missed the whole thing. I would have died.

The sad part about my shoot is that we did 5 or 6 outfit changes & the baby positioned so well & didn't fuss at all. He is on his way over in about an hour so say a prayer for continued success today. Still feeling sick about it.

Good luck with today's shoot, Maureen! Did you change the settings in your camera to prevent that from happening?
