Thanks, Suzy. Happy Chinese New Year to you!
No pictures from me, I'm taking care of my mom right now while she recovers from neck surgery. She's doing really well and I'm just here to keep her from over doing it.

What is everyone up to? We are having a stressful week.... Skip had 4 days of miserable pain in his left abdomen & just had a CAT scan.....we go in Monday to find out the results. Then poor little Grayson has had a terrible cough & went to the Dr. today. His oxygen levels were okay but they think we could be getting RSV so they put him on breathing treatments & inhalers. Five months old & 19.4 lbs! So today I just had Ella all by herself and she was soooo happy. We had a date & went to the ImagineU museum, then went to lunch. She is becoming more & more a Mima's girl every week and now tells her preschool teacher to call me to come pick her up on her 2 days there. I have also gotten my 5D4 camera back & been practicing with it. Not sold yet......

Grayson yesterday

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate again, Maureen.
I haven't been taking pictures lately. My husband broke his ankle and fibula a week and a half ago and just had surgery on his ankle yesterday so we are starting over again. I have a feeling I'm a couple weeks or more away from having any of my own time. I've been running my boy to school (45 minutes away), come back home, then back to pick my boy up, then home again. I'm really hoping my husband starts to feel better soon, because no one is doing my work at my job and I haven't been to work long enough to do anything there.
I'm looking forward to better days and I hope things get better for you and Skip.

Stina, so sorry to hear about your hubby. Broken bones are no fun!!! I hate winters....seems like everyone gets sick or hurt all season long.
Well we decided come hell or high water to take a small vacation in April & booked 8 days to Amsterdam & Belgium. I did buy travel insurance though but we have been wanting to go for several years & decided to just go for it.

Oh, you can tell me all about Amsterdam Maureen, I'm going there 25-29 August.

I am so excited about going! I bought tickets to the Van Gogh Museum and to the Anne Frank House. We are doing a short bus trip over to Bruges, Belgium as well.

Sounds good, we've decided to take a chance and not buy advance tickets. Need to get Levina to give advice on what lenses to bring, am limiting myself to two.
Talking of Levina, perhaps you should pm her to get advice on seeing the best of Amsterdam in limited time!

Wow Maureen and Stina!! Sounds like you both have your hands full! Hoping for a speedy recovery for both of your husbands!!!
I have rectified my situation here and my temperament has bettered.
In October hubby and I had moved a friend of mine in that had become homeless. Gave her ample opportunity to look for work and at LEAST help with the household chores. Unfortunately she didn't put much effort into either. She has no income whatsoever so we were supporting her and providing her with everything. She did have a couple of job interviews, but didn't get the jobs. There are several other places here in town she COULD have applied to, but didn't. So I was going to work all day and all she would do is eat, sleep and play on the computer. I would get home from work and ask if she had called such and such a place to see if they were hiring and she didn't. So it got very frustrating. I finally had to tell her that she needed to fid another place to go. That was the hardest thing I have had to do. She and I have been friends for 45 years!! But I guess you can't help someone who won't try to help themselves. Anyway, she found another place to go and I wish her the best.
Anyway, on the photography topic, I have taken the camera out for a couple of rides and came home skunked. Saw a barred owl and all I got was a shot of tail feathers taking off! LOL!!
We're due to get a heck of a snowstorm tomorrow into Monday, maybe I can get some good pics of the aftermath!! We're supposed to get anywhere from 1 to 2 feet of snow! YAY!! NOT!!! LOL
Well, I guess I have rambled on long enough, but I wanted to let you know the "old" me is reappearing!! YAY!!!

I have family who has been & gotten some advice but I am a wanderer at heart. I usually ask locals & hotel staff what is best to see & where to eat. :) I am only taking one camera and one lens which is par for the course when I go overseas. Road trips I throw my whole Pelican case into the back of the car & use most of it but I like to travel light when I fly. The Anne Frank house you should buy tickets early for. They sell them 2 months in advance and when I bought mine yesterday, there weren't a whole lot of slots open for in the whole week.

Wow, Barb...... that was frustrating for you, I am sure. But glad you did the right thing and made your friend leave. I am not a fan of freeloaders of any sort...... Get to work! ;-)a
Of course some people say I am lazy not to work but I planned a long time ago to be able to retire at age 56 and I did do it. It is different when you save enough money to retire early (plus become debt free) than just being a moocher.:-P

Besides, taking care of 3 little ones during the week is not really for the lazy.

Anyways, hope to see some pictures of you enjoying life again and sorry about the snow. We are rained to death here in California, everything is soppy & muddy, lakes and rivers are overflowing and more is on the way by Thursday. North of us, in the foothills they are dealing with terrible flooding & mudslides; tiny streams are torrential rivers but we have not had all the water they have had. No complaining from me though....
