Wow, Barb...... that was frustrating for you, I am sure. But glad you did the right thing and made your friend leave. I am not a fan of freeloaders of any sort...... Get to work! ;-)a AGREED
Of course some people say I am lazy not to work but I planned a long time ago to be able to retire at age 56 and I did do it. It is different when you save enough money to retire early (plus become debt free) than just being a moocher.:-P WELL DONE, GOOD FINANCIAL PLANNING

Besides, taking care of 3 little ones during the week is not really for the lazy. Hmmm, really? :)

Anyways, hope to see some pictures of you enjoying life again and sorry about the snow. We are rained to death here in California, everything is soppy & muddy, lakes and rivers are overflowing and more is on the way by Thursday. North of us, in the foothills they are dealing with terrible flooding & mudslides; tiny streams are torrential rivers but we have not had all the water they have had. No complaining from me though.... DROUGHT OVER?

They aren't lifting the drought restrictions yet..... since we haven't gotten anywhere with increasing our water storage, one wet winter will not alleviate 6 years of drought. However, the burden is greatly eased.

Cute comments to my post...

Update: Skip's CT scan looked pretty good except for some spots on his bilateral pelvic bones. Next week a bone scan to rule out bone cancer. Might just be calcium deposits too so we aren't worrying yet.

Some good news is that I did our taxes over the weekend & got enough of a refund to pull the trigger on the 24-7OII lens! My original still does a good job on the 5D3 but it is beat up. I took the 5D4 to the zoo on Monday & took a couple of lenses. The outcome was better than I expected so now I can finally use the dang camera after owning it for 6 months!

My new lens came today; was excited to see what it would do on the 5DMK4 but sadly, it was a gloomy day so my outside light wasn't that great and my subject was pretty uncooperative.:-P Still, only natural window light & I am still not 100% sold on the camera function.

Congratulations on the new lens! I have the same problem! I bit the bullet on the Tamron 150-600. Since I got it, all it's been is grey and drizzly. Hoping I can get out sometime this weekend to try it out.

So how is everyone? Stina, is your hubby on the mend? Skip's bone scan came back negative so we can breathe a sigh of relief & plug onward. Ready for spring... I planted my side yard this week and added river rock & small boulders so am glad that project is done.

Mr. Grayson turned 6 months old this past week and is sitting up all alone & trying to get up on his hands & knees. I love it when they start to get a bit more independent & can play a bit by themselves. He is so cute & mostly a happy boy; my only blue-eyed grandchild and turning reddish blonde.

He's adorable, Maureen!
Glad to hear the good news about Skip. My hubby is getting better and I can leave him all day while I'm at work. :-)
We just need to get him back to normal so he can do his own chores now. :p

Hello all.......

I'm sorry it's been awhile. We have spent the last 3 weeks in Huntington Beach taking care of my MIL! She had Bronchitis. After taking her to emergency 3 times, the third time was the charm, they finally gave her some medication that worked.
The key meds being an inhaler that was able to cut through the cough. Her lungs were clear from day 1.
However, she did nothing but moan and groan, whine, and complain the entire time! I don't make that much noise whenever I have pancreatitis:-)

Then I found out this week that my father, who is on hospice care, has pneumonia! I'm not handling it well. Plus, my MIL is still giving us.....(you fill in the blank). I told my husband to handle her, as I can't handle both her and my father. I'm afraid if I hear her say she's dying, I'm going to give her what for! Which would not make for good relations, so to speak! Okay, enough drama;-)a

Stina, I'm happy to hear your husband is on the mend.

Maureen, good news about Skip, and Grayson is adorable!

Lynn, when it rains, it pours. Too bad your MIL is such a grouch. It is always so hard when aging parents decline but I think it helps when they pass because everyone is exhausted and ready for it to be over. Both my parents as well as Skips parents had a hard last couple of years. Hang in there.......:love::love:

Great stuff, enjoy Maureen. You will undoubtedly set the bar very high for my visit in August! (Stay out of those "special" cafes)

We navigated public transportation out to Keukenhof today to see the miles of tulip fields & visit the gardens. Oh my! Words nor pictures can describe it. I have no computer with me so I snapped a few shots off my phone.... we probably strolled through 3 miles of this in every color imaginable.
