Quick question for those of you who set their WB to Cloudy. Do you set it to cloudy outdoors on a sunny day too?

Mar 01, 2013 15:54 | #1217 Thanks Maureen! I'm really hoping to capture a spectacular sunrise and sunset. *Fingers crossed* FYI: "Fitness Freak" is also known as "Amber" outside of POTN.

Mar 01, 2013 15:56 | #1218 I typically only set my WB for "cloudy" when it IS cloudy but my photography teacher also said to use it when photographing the leaves in autumn. I haven't had the chance to try it yet though so I can't say how good it does or doesn't look. FYI: "Fitness Freak" is also known as "Amber" outside of POTN.

Do you set it to cloudy outdoors on a sunny day too? I shoot RAW, so I don't believe that WB is affected in the CR2 file information. I do know that it does affect the jpeg file shown on the LCD. joayne Contribute to POTN | Worldwide Photo Week

Firstly, apologies if this reply pops up twice, I thought I posted it once but came back and it had disappeared. Whoops - user error I think. Gundogs wrote in post #15664682 I hope you all have a great weekend. I'm dog training tomorrow, then lunching with my Mum and MIL on Sunday - it's also my Lola's birthday (my eldest dog), she's 10 and my most special girl of all, so I'll be spending lots of time hugging her I expect ![]() EastBayGirl wrote in post #15665450 And a happy birthday to you dog, Penel. My oldest dog is Bodie, a 14 year old Jack Russell terrier. Love the rascal. Happy birthday Lola, my eldest hound Digby is in the middle here at 12 years. Maureen Souza wrote in post #15665913 Quick question for those of you who set their WB to Cloudy. Do you set it to cloudy outdoors on a sunny day too? IMG_8749 comments and criticism welcome. And one of my youngest hound, Basil. I usually find him quite a hard subject as he is small (miniature dachshund), fast and has a dark face which I manage to underexpose often. He was in hunting mode today and nearly caught a squirrel which ran past at least three perfectly usable trees before going up the fourth!
IMG_8637 Penel are you going to Crufts next week? I will be there Thursday for the hounds. Emma

She is also just starting to sit so trying to get a shot of her upright & not bobbling all over was a bit of a challenge. Gotta love babies. They are so amazing to me. Next week our daughter goes back to work so we will add Tristan in to our weekly life. He will come 3 days one week and 2 days the next as I will trade off with his other grandma. I can't wait to get him all to myself ![]() Maureen - how precious is it for you to have such close relationships with your grandchildren! I try and be as appreciative and thankful as I can for my grandparents. When we were younger we would often have sleepovers at their house on Friday nights, then head out on Saturday morning to watch a dolphin show at the mall close to their house. My grandma would always have our favourite cereals (sugared ones that were never allowed in our house :lol EastBayGirl wrote in post #15658397 ![]() Waiting I actually kind of like this picture - I like being able to see it from his perspective.
Winter I like it because even though we live right in the city, it feels like we don't really because of that view. So I'm torn - an acreage is way too big/expensive for just me, but I do want to live out of the city, maybe 10 minutes or so. I've been looking online for anyone wanting a renter in the basement of their acreage or something, haven't really found anything yet. Oh well, maybe some day ... Well, I am back and posting here, hopefully. It's been a crazy last few weeks, I've barely had time to look through POTN or do much photo-related. I think things will be slowing down a bit now so looking forward to being back! Canon RP | Canon 6D | 70-200 f/2.8 I | 50mm f/1.4 | 16-35mm f/2.8 II | 580EX II x 2

At 5'1" I'm always on the lookout for a good but not large bag. I recently picked up the ThinkTank CityWalker 20, which is about the outer limit of size for me, but I really like it. I'm thinking of complementing it with the CityWalker 10, we'll see how that goes.Spring is on the way! It was rainy (real rain, not this gray skies and maybe misty junk we've had for weeks) today, and the crocuses are starting to bloom, so I took the macro lens to the park at lunch. ![]() A Hint of Spring to Come ![]() Raindrops on Crocuses ![]() Raindrops on Crocuses Those are stunning! digsmum wrote in post #15668989 Hi ladies. Do you set it to cloudy outdoors on a sunny day too? Yes; most of the time unless I'm at the beach where the glare on the white sand and water is too bright; then I use sun setting. I usually set to cloudy even on a bright day because I have found on my camera that even if I set my ISO to sun, the photos come out washed out more than set to cloudy. I'd rather be shooting!

Just got through with him & I ran off to Aaron's first Little League game (they lost). When Nicholas saw me he stuck to me like glue the whole 2 hours. We played tractors (I brought some of his from here), we ran races (fat old Lady actually beat the little kid once or twice) and he sat in my lap and wouldn't let go of me the whole time. I was in Heaven. Aaron kept calling over and asked if I was having fun & asking Nick if he was happy to see me. Sad & happy at the same time. I am so glad I will get to see him every week until the middle of May. Then who knows..... Image hosted by forum (639271) © Maureen Souza [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW.
