I didn't get out to enjoy the sunshine, but I did crack the patio door, which got Max's attention. Briefly, anyway.

Taken with the 16-35mm L because it's been glued to my camera for almost 2 weeks now.

Awww, Penelope, what a sweet set, that is a beautiful dog.

Ashley, I said it in the other thread but it bears repeating - congrats on the new camera! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Seattle today, and I'm trying really hard to talk myself into going for a walk. But my favorite city park is invaded by hordes of costumed Comic-Con attendees, and while I'd normally enjoy seeing the costumes, I'm not really in the mood to deal with crowds today, and I'm not feeling inspired to do any "city" shots in the downtown area, either. Sigh. Maybe I'll just stay home and finish cleaning the house.

Thanks so far the shutter sounds quite different from my 60d and also I like the focal length of the full frame with the lens I have. I feel like my next lens purchases are going to be all primes

Canon 35mm f2 or 35mm 1.4 and the canon 85mm 1.8. Eventually I will get a 70-200 f4 IS but for now I want primes

I just finished a 4 hour photo shoot for a High School Senior gal. We drove all over this town & into the next county looking for cool places to use. :) It was actually a ton of fun!
Penel, lovely shots with your special doggy.Amazing how much we bond with them. We had a little weenie dog that died about 18 months ago at age 15 years who was the sweetest, most devoted little fellow. He adored my grandsons & watched over them faithfully. In his whole life I never heard a growl out of him, never saw his lip curl, never bit. We miss him so much to this day. Now we have our funny little Charlie rescue dog who brings a lot of happiness to our lives everyday with his silly ways.

Thanks Maureen. I wouldn't know what to do with myself without my dogs! Sounds like your High School Senior shoot was fun, can we see some?

Mr Gundogs did a nice job Penel!
...and so did you.
Beautiful Lola and Mrs Gundogs!

Happy Birthday!

Thank you, yes he did pretty well. I'm a bit bossy but he got some good shots despite my impatience!!!

I've been out with the camera this morning, since it's a beautiful day here in Surrey, UK. Only one adder to be found, and it was annoyingly hiding it's head whilst warming it's body!

As I was walking through the woods I could "feel" the deer were nearby. Sure enough they appeared, we don't see them very often and usually only see a group of three together. I only caught one on camera though, the other two were hidden deep in the woodland.

I also went to my neighbour's feeding station for some bird action, it was busy there today!

Hello Ladies,

I made it back home, and back to the grind. :( My son sure enjoyed his time on the beach and visiting with grandpa. Everyone has posted some great pictures! Love seeing the wide range of photos (cats, dogs, babies, deer and flowers).
What wonderful memories you captured with Lola, Penel. I need to do that with my Jack Russell, my day's with him are unfortunately getting shorter.
Glad you are getting back to normal, Emelvee. It will be good to see you post around here.

It looks like you had a good morning, Penel. Beautiful pictures today!

Here are a couple from my trip. I never did get out during good light.
(I noticed I need to calibrate my monitor, these look different at work then they do at home. I guess I know what's next on my list.)

Miss Kitty. This is a cat my dad started feeding. He saw her outside when it was in the 20's and made a bed for her. She has been on his front porch ever since.

On Friday we went to a pier to see the sea lions. My dads dog did not like it so our trip was cut short.

Later we went to Pismo Beach to go metal detecting. My son decided to chase the sand birds. I forgot to bring him shorts. I didn't think it would be warm enough, oh well.

I missed the Saturday sunset, because my niece wanted to visit. I thought that was really nice of her, she is going to college close to my dad.
We went the next night to find nothing but fog. I did get this gull. Must of thought I had food, because it kept coming closer and closer to me.

Nice variety of coastal shots, Stina, LOVE the sea lions :)

I am working on my Senior photos; we had beautiful weather on Saturday but we did this shoot yesterday in the drizzle under poor lighting conditions. I will share a few shortly. How about one more from my baby shoot? (since the other one didn't see to impress anybody ;))

Thanks, Maureen.
Oh, I loved the preemie picture Maureen. There were too many pictures taken and posted to single out all the ones I loved. This last one is super cute also, but I like the preemie one more. ;)

Me too. Some people in the Kids & family forum thought it was a little too busy but I like to do both. I always do a couple of close-ups for the mommys, then I try to do something a little more fun or whimsical for all.

Well my 5DMkII & 50mm/1.4 lens just got back from the Canon Service center. I KNEW something was wrong with both of them. Turns out 2 circuit boards in the camera had shorted out causing focus issues and the lens was broken from impact. Probably when Skip dropped it on the driveway. So $400 later, they both should be like brand new :) Tomorrow I will give them a workout on Tristan.

Glad you got it back fast. Sucks to have to repair things but now they should work great. On another note.
I had always wondered if Skip could possibly be your husband, but there are a lot of Souza's out there. I was just checking out the Hawaii thread and lo and behold you are calling him honey. ;)

Yes. I dragged him kicking & screaming into photography with me more than 10 years ago. He was retiring from 31 years of being a cop & I thought it was a hobby we could both enjoy together. Plus our kids were all out of the house so we had time for it.

yikes $400 that's a lot, but a whole lot cheaper than new ones! Glad you have got them back anyhow.

Quiet in here today.

Stina - love your holiday shots, particularly your son on the beach, that's a great shot. And of course the kissing sealions!

Well my 50mm/1.4 is worse than before; wouldn't work on any camera so back it goes. I am sad cuz it is the one I photograph all my babies with. :(

Someone asked to see my High School Senior so this is heavily processed with over-lays & textures but I am very happy with it. I emailed a copy to her mom at work & she said the whole office loved it. So I am anxious to hear your critiques, Ladies :) Fire away!

I really like it. It's natural, but she looks elegant whilst also looking quite trendy and a bit cool. Nice contrast of the gritty set, with the white jacket and silver shoes. Very nice. :D

Not good about your lens though grrrr!
