yikes $400 that's a lot, but a whole lot cheaper than new ones! Glad you have got them back anyhow.

Quiet in here today.

Stina - love your holiday shots, particularly your son on the beach, that's a great shot. And of course the kissing sealions!

Thanks Penel. It has been quiet here.

Well my 50mm/1.4 is worse than before; wouldn't work on any camera so back it goes. I am sad cuz it is the one I photograph all my babies with. :(

Someone asked to see my High School Senior so this is heavily processed with over-lays & textures but I am very happy with it. I emailed a copy to her mom at work & she said the whole office loved it. So I am anxious to hear your critiques, Ladies :) Fire away!

I think you did a great job, not sure I know enough to critique it though. I like the fact that it looks age appropriate.
I'm sorry your 50 came back worse. :(

Thanks for the comments. Sometimes when I get too close to my work, I lose sight of the whole thing:)

This is my first week with the youngest grandbaby, Tristan. Yesterday, after a major diaper explosion, I tossed him on the beanbag. He didn't really like it but I managed one sort of decent shot. He is is such a wriggly baby it is hard to get anything in focus

Well my baby grandson left at 4:00, then I got the other 2 boys & we went to a birthday party at Chuckee Cheese. Felt so great to have them both with me again. Poor Nick cried when it was time to go home.

I have been playing with DOF today. I have 2 & 3 year old cousins coming Monday for their birthday photos. Should be very interesting..... :)
Since my camera got fixed, I can crank my ISO up to 2500 and it is as smooth as glass. So happy because you all know I hate to use flash. So now going to try to figure out how to combine Minnie Mouse & Elmo together into a birthday invitation. I am think of using some Disney scrapbook paper to make a flag banner for the background.

Sounds like a creative day Maureen, my imagination isn't great when i need to do things like that. Looking forward to see the results.

Today I am going to Crufts for hound day, looking forward to all the dogs and just a tiny bit of shopping.

Did you have fun Emma? I'm not going this year, Barley's not well and I've got to work tomorrow anyway, and I'm photographing someone with her two dogs on Sunday, so no time really.

Good morning everyone!
Sorry I haven't posted at all, but I have been trying to keep up with the posts.
Maureen-Those premie pics are so cute!! And I LOVE that senior pic! Sorry to hear about your lens! Hope it comes back good as new this time!! Tristan is so ADORABLE!! Love that little grin of his!!
All the shots here are wonderful! Love the sea lions!! Thank you all for sharing!!
I will try a bit harder to post a little more often. It just seems as though stress from work and sometimes life in general gets in the way.
Right now, hubby and his brother and friend are heading off to Old Town Canoe factory to get my brother-in-law a canoe. So I actually have the house to myself for a couple of hours! :-) How nice and quiet it will be!
We really lucked out here in my part of Maine as far as that noreaster went. Seems the Boston and Cape area got hit the hardest. 14" of heavy, wet snow just outside Boston where a friend of mine lives. I haven't heard yet what the Cape got. But all we got here was a little wind.
The temps have been perfect now for the running of the maple sap. Our friend has tapped several trees and has about 100 gallons of sap and is setting his sugar shack up today. So I will head over later this afternoon and get some pics of it. He should have the sap on to boil it down by the time we go over. Maybe next year we will tap some trees and get something set up to do this. I have wanted to learn it for a while now, but haven't known anyone until now to show me how. Another thing I would like to learn to make is the maple candy! YUM!!!!
So everyone have a great day and I will try to be a little more diligent in at least popping in and saying hi...but even better, getting out, taking pics and posting those!!

Did somebody mention my name? :)

I've not been too well for a couple of weeks. I did keep up with POTN in general though, left a comment here and there even, but I didn't feel up to fully participating in this dedicated thread, so I kept silent. I did very much enjoy all the wonderful images posted by you all.

I was able to get out again last week and took some shots of our local White Storks, but other than that, not much activity here.

And then the weather is confused. Last week we had two Spring like days. Now Winter is back and it's expected to snow later today and temperatures are going to drop below zero C. Grrr...

I also took some shots of the location of the Storks I photographed and am making panorama's. I just discovered that there is a filter in Photoshop called "Adaptive Wide Angle" that lets you correct the distortions that are generated when you make a pano. That is sooo cool!! :)

Anyway, that's where I'm now. I will try to drop in more often!

Hope Barley is better Penel. Had a fairly fraught Crufts this year. The friend I go with had one of her dogs rushed to the vet with acute pancreatitis the day before we went, so she didn't bother taking her other dog to show so we could leave early (dogs have to stay til after 3). Then we got onto M25 to realise she had left her tickets behind! Luckily she works for the Kennel Club so was able to sort out replacements when we got there so it turned out OK. Once all that excitement was over we had a good few hours there, caught up with a lot of friends and saw some beautiful dogs. Nothing exciting photo-wise, well good enough for Facebook, but probably not appearing here!

Apart from Crufts I have taken no photos at all this week. I am going to have to start doing some sort of indoor photography as I don't think we are ever going to have a nice weekend weather-wise again. (Don't you just love an optimist?!)

Afternoon Ladies - sorry to hear you've been unwell Levina. Show us some of the stork pics though please ;)
Stina, I like the shot of the beach with the plants in the foreground, very nice.
Emma your trip to Crufts sounds a bit chaotic, lucky your friend could get tickets when you got there. Is her dog ok -I lost one of mine 5 yrs ago to acute pancreatitis :( it's really nasty. Barley's got Inflammatory Bowel Disease, he's really bad at the moment, 5 kgs underweight and vomiting twice a day - despite the best possible veterinary care, nothing we can do is helping :( tisn't looking great really.
The weather here is mostly mud still. I have someone coming for photos in my studio tomorrow with her two little dogs, so that will be fun. Snow forecast here on Monday too. Brrrr.

Ah no, Levina, that won't do...

Here are some of my favourite images I saw these past couple of weeks:

And I loved your baby shots, Maureen, but I can't quote them. I tried dragging them to my desktop and attach them again here, but that won't work properly as the images do turn up in Preview Post, but are nowhere in the message window so they end up all over the place! :)

I had quite a few more selected but POTN told me "no more than 8"!!

Sorry you were ill, Levina & hope you are on the mend. We missed you! And it is fine about the pictures; I post them just for fun & try not to take them too seriously.
Barb, glad you survived the Noreaster; the Berkshires got 14-18" & my cousins are all complaining about it. Enjoy your peace & quiet.
Penel, so sorry about your doggie:( One of my best friends lost her 15 year old weenie dog yesterday so we all had a good cry about that.)
Emma, don't give up; the weather will get better. We have been chilly, dreary & rainy here for 3 days but next week I saw a glimpse of spring creep into the forecast.

As for me, today I am going to Aaron's Little League game, then painting a little antique bench I bought at the Peddler's Market for a photo shoot Monday. I have another photo shoot Wed. and then baby Tristan Thursday & Friday as well as Aaron Mon-Wed. He gets out at noon those days for some teacher's conference so I will be busy-busy.

On a bright note, I am almost done editing my high school gal; tomorrow I will finish them up. Here is one of the shots I sort of liked:
