Already searched on google, youtube and on here and couldn't find the answer.

Basically started off with a non chipped version, the metering was spot on using it. Even AV worked great. But not having auto confirm was really difficult.

So I ordered the chipped version with AF confirm and programmable data chip.

Got it in this morning and went out to test it out, it was supposed to come preset at 50mm 1.8 but instead it's at 6mm 1.4 and it's throwing my metering way off.

The good part is that AF confirm has been working perfectly, my shots have improved from 40% in focus to 100% :D

Any-who these are the instructions I received to program it:

The part that I don't get is how to set "aperture compensation to 1/3"
Does that mean in the custom menu I need to set it to 1/3 stop instead of 1/2?
I already do that anyways, or does it mean I have to set the exposure comp to 1/3?

Thanks in advance!

No help here but curious, what the heck is a Dandelion other than a weed?

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Wiki says...

A Dandelion chip is a chip that can be installed in the mount of manual SLR lenses. Integrated into an adapter, it is commonly used on a digital SLR camera body with a shorter focal flange distance like the Olympus Four Thirds System camera bodies, which can mount most manual focus lenses with adapters but which lack built-in focus confirmation.

Integrated into a contact block, a Dandelion chip can be added to Nikon manual focus lenses to enable exposure metering, focus indication and EXIF data on Nikon consumer bodies.

It means set the in camera menu "aperture steps" to 1/3 stop settings while you change the programmable options of the chip.
Once you have the chip programmed as you want it then you can set the in camera settings to either 1/3 or 1/2 stop settings, whichever you want to use.
Exposure compensation settings have got nothing to do with it

Well I guess that's the problem, my camera doesn't have aperture steps. It just has adjustable "exposure level increments".

I'm going to try it out on my friends 7D, thanks!

"Exposure level increments" is exactly the same thing as "aperture steps". Just make sure your 10D Custom Function 6 is set to 1/3-stop.

The real issue is that they ended up sending me the non programmable one, Just a simple swap now and I should be good :)
