This is my eleven year old cat, Tigger. He actually allows me to put him into various poses, and will stay on command until I release him! Bless his heart! He helped me practice some portraits this morning - what do you think?

Looks pretty good to me. Your color balance + exposure for the cat look good even with the challenge of having it backlit.
