I tried that feature couple of times rating photos on my 5DM3, with both RAW and JPEG files.... each time after transferring photos to my Lightroom 4, and Lightroom 4 never shows the ratings.... What am I doing wrong?

Supposedly compatible with Aperture and Lightroom but I wonder about what version. Wasn't there a LR update about last April or May that addressed 5DIII features?

Could LR maybe not support the 5DM3 yet? My 650D seems to work in this regard.

LR4 works with the 5D3 files but I noticed too that I can't see my rating stars in LR. In Adobe Bridge they show up fine. I'm fairly new to LR though, so I might be missing something.

I am using the latest LR, 4.2 but I have not tried it with that 4.2 final version which I downloaded yesterday. I'll try again I guess

Try this, in Lightroom, go to the Library module, select the images you want, then go Metadata > Read Metadata from file. Do not do this for images that you already edited in LR, or you will revert the edit to how the image was imported.
