Thought this was really interesting. Basically the only difference between these cameras is a few lines of code and of course lot's of $$!


6D, 5D, 7Dii, Eos R and too many lenses, flashes and aux. gear to list!:cool:

As countered in the comments to the article though, the author of the article has it wrong. There are also some hardware changes under the hood. I don't know that the 1DX couldn't capture 4k video but it probably wouldn't be able to maintain top level quality for the timeframe that the 1DC could.

On top of all of that, the price of the body reflects the market it is entering. It is not competing with consumer HD video cameras, it is competing with cinema line video equipment which retail for quite a bit more than the 1DX. Priced a RED system lately? The 1DC will provide some advantages over the RED too, not the least to do with the size of the imaging sensor.
