Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di @ 2.8, 1/80, ISO 100 no flash. Trying out my new lens (which replaced my 24-70mmL that now forever rests at the bottom of the Broad Ripple Canal) with natural light and my son. Work is slow during the holidays and I just had to take some shots.

A little soft glow and then USM for web resisizing. Also cloned out some snot.

Such a beautiful photo. The tamron is one of my favorite lenses, and it’s the lens that I used most often. Very good quality considering its price point. Though it definitely isn’t up to par with your 24-70 L glass. Keep up the great work.

I'm not to sure....I made the investment on the "L" some time ago, and now that it is gone, I really don't miss it all that much.

I couldn't afford another "L", so the Tamron had to do for now, and to tell you the truth, I really like it. Focusing is slower and noisier, but it is a much lighter and smaller lens that performs VERY well.

I am a big fan of really close up close ups. I could care less about chopping off the top of the head, or an ear, or a chin, so long as I have snappy looking eyes and a great expression.

Thanks! I love directional lighting, though it is far trickier to get the exposure right with natural light, much less to get a 2 year old to sit still for 1/80th of a sec. I took about 12 shots and only 2 were in focus and/or did not have blur.

Love the extreme closeups too and these are great.

Thanks Titus! Yes, this lens has me VERY happy. I do miss the "L" a bit, but this lens has outstanding quality for the money, not to mention the (lack of) weight and size. I highly recommend it.
