Every time I put my SD card in the computer, lightroom 4 starts up and takes over, it reads the card and for a brief moment I see something come up and say eject card after, and this is all I see before LR starts loading. NOW, my problem is when I close out LR and do the safely remove at the bottom of my screen it says windows can't safely remove it because another program is using it, the only program I had running was LR and the only way to get my card out is to just take the thing out, which screws up my SD card reader, the F drive is not listed anymore and the only way to get the controller to work again is the re-boot the computer. Has anybody else been through this and have any suggestions for fixing it?
Thanks

Check the Task Manager and make sure LR still isn't open and also make sure Windows Explorer isn't using it either.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

In LR Preferences there is a checkbox for something like "Launch when memory card is detected" (I'm not at home to check the exact wording). Be sure that is not checked. If it isn't and LR is still doing it, check your system's Auto Play settings and remove LR from the list.

I have noticed this, it seems to be that LR wants to do one of the tasks normally done by the OS.....only way round it is to ensure LR settings are adjusted to disable the EJECT after Import function....then your OS will retain complete control as normal.

Thanks to all for your help, turned off the eject after import and instead of using the X to exit I do File Exit now.
