I am planning a trip to Paris in the future. I have been to Paris before, but missed some sights that I want to catch the next time around.
I didn't need an ultrawide for much of what I saw, but wonder where it might come in handy.
Do you really need a lens with an ultrawide view for Versailles, Sacre Coeur, or some other sights?
Can I get by with a "normal" sort of lens? I'd like to travel light, and don't want to drag a lens along that will only sit in the bag back in the hotel.
I'd be grateful for any feedback. What do you think?

just came back 2 weeks ago from Paris and Italy trip. my 16-35 stayed on my camera about 85% of the time, the other time was my 24-105. That game me plenty of reach. I took my 50mm 1.2 & 70-200 2.8 but after lugging them around twice and not using them, they stayed in the hotels for 2.5 weeks. a wide and the 24-105 is MORE than enough.

This is with the 16-35...

Been to Paris many times. For a crop an UWA is very helpful. You can live with a 17 or 18mm, but it is hard to shoot such places as the Notre Dame, or on narrow streets. I used it often. Now that I go there I just bring my 17-70, but only because there is not much more that I still want to shoot. If it is your first trip, take the UWA.

I was in Paris two weeks ago. While the 24-70 was my "long" lens, the Canon 10-22 was the one that produced most of my pictures.
