Gosh, I guess it's been awhile since I've been here. It was a busy summer, and haven't shot very many sports. My son just started fall baseball, so I'm doing the team pics again. Here are some action shots I got last night. It was just as the sun was going down, so it was perfect for lighting. I was on TV mode, 1/200, Auto ISO. I know I was cheating by using auto, but it was honestly what was giving me the best pics. But, some of the pics may vary, because I was experimenting, and changing things as I went, and as the light changed. When I used AV, I got motion blur, no matter how fast it was.

nice pics, good action, but 1/200 is a little slow for baseball. Next time (if the light is good) try for a higher shutter speed with your XSi, at least 1/1000

for example,
XSi / 450D
1/1600
Av mode f5.6
using 100-400
shot thru a chain link fence!)
