first wedding was a small family affair with only about 30 people in total
this wedding was much larger and much longer and had more things going on i carried 2 16gb and 4 8gb and at one point i thought i would run out of space
it became painfully clear what the difference between an amateur and a professional is.... both know what the correct settings are for many different lighting scenarios but the professional usually will have the presence of mind to change to the appropriate settings as the light changes whereas the amateur often will not
cc welcomed and appreciated

#1 could use some fill light on the left cheek
#2 is a bit too tighly cropped (on left side) and could use some straightening as well
In both the backgrounds are somewhat distracting

Bright light and dark people make for a very difficult shoot. I shot a wedding with an indoor reception with harsh light and a couple from Africa. Oh, it was so painful. But lighting is the start of a good image. You did fine with the first one as natural light is wonderful for complexion. Just be careful with no fill-flash. Can't get dark eyes very well with light only coming from behind or the side.

would it be possible to share your settings on the first shot? the detail shot of the shoes is decent just make the brown pop a bit more and you have a good image.

#1. Decent shot. I don't like that her shoulders are angled like that though. I would have shot this straight on. Don't mind the darker side of her face. I actually like it.

#2. Yeah, way too tight and looks like it wasn't straight on. Lighting is totally flat on this one as well.

#3. Harsh lighting. Bad angle.

#4. I like this shot other than their shiny foreheads cause by the flash.

#5. The guy all the way to the right is too close to the guy next to him. I would have also not had them stand so straigh towards the camera. Not flattering at all.

#6. I would have either shot from a higher angle or lower angle to avoide the horizon line chopping into his head. I'd clone out that glare off his forehead caused by the flash. Looks a little underexposed as well.
