I ordered my 50mm f1.8 but wont get it until after the new year. I want it now! I shoot alot of photos inside and my kit lens just isnt that great for that setting. But I'll share these anyway. I know technically they arent great, but like Maureen was saying, the content is priceless with some. :D

Your pics are sweet :)

If you want the lens so bad, you can put your hand up to take custody of the travelling nifty 50 that is about to start doing the rounds soon :) It's a great lens, you'll have much fun with it :)

Just returned after many years hiatus from this forum. I was a bit of a prat before, if I ever offended you, I'm sorry

I know how you feel Pamela.
I got mine for Christmas and it was a long wait.
It is a fantastic lens and produces great shots.
Hang in there it will arrive soon and we look forward to seeing some of your shots.
The ones you posted are great by the way.

Yeah I just got my 50mm 1.8 yesterday. I've only got a few shots with it but it is a very nice indoor lens.

Making the rounds? I don't get it

Very nice pictures CTY. I like them compositionally. I'd try and convert them to BW maybe, to get rid of the color casts from different lighting.

I'll give a shot at doing b/w and see what they look like. Thanks for the suggestion. Only thing with me though, I love all the colors of Christmas, so it will be a hard sell. ;)

Thanks again for the feedback :)

Very nice work. What exactly is the problem your having with the kit lens? If these are examples I don't see it....Cute child too.

You will enjoy the challenge of the 50, that's for sure.

Thanks Titus213 :) I seem to have to edit alot of the photos with the kit lens. They dont come out as nice as alot of the ones I see taken with better lenses. Maybe It's me that's really the problem since I dont know my camera like I should. But I guess its more the quality of the photos compared. Also, if you saw the before of those photos above, they are super dark and not sharp. Dont get me wrong... I've taken some pretty good ones with my kit lens. But mostly outdoors. Inside, I'm having a hard time of it. Thankfully, I'm pretty good at editing photos with all the site work I do.

The ones above were taken with the 18-55mm kit lens. As soon as I get a chance, I'll post some with the 50mm.

Speaking of the fifty ;) Here's one of my firsts with just trying out what it can do. My son would kill me if he knew I was putting this up. But I think I'm gonna like this :) And as you can see...my son is all too thrilled with me testing it out.
