I have read the sticky regarding converters and there is no mention of this converter working with my latest Sigma 150mm lens below.

I know for fact my Canon converters will not physically fit this Sigma lens, I have tried..:(

Anyone had any word that the Sigma converter will work with this Sigma macro lens..

I saw a chart somewhere, may have been sigmaphoto.com or sigma-imaging.uk.com and that had a list of all the lenses and their compatibility with TCs.

Dave, You are a star and thankyou.

Looking at that chart the 1.4X converter will both AF and MF.

Great news..:D

Very much so Dave, Thanks again..:D

Maybe the Mods would like to update their Teleconverter page adding this info to it...;)

According to Sigma USA's Teleconverter page (external link) it doesn't work. According to their page on the 150 f/2.8 EX DG Macro (external link) it does. I'd want to try it out in person before putting any dollars/pounds down. Last I knew, the Sigma and Canon teleconverters had about the same protrusion, so had the same restraints on which lenses they'd fit.

Like I said - they say two different things. Maybe the info on the macro's newer than the info on the TC. Their lens chart appears to split the difference, saying the 1.4x will fit but only with MF. Try before you buy, then buy the very one you tried!

FYI.

The 150mm Macro DOES work with Sigma's own T-cons.

The lens is newer than most of Sigma's own published charts on the T-cons...
I will amend the focurms t-con FAQ to include the 150mm...

One question though... to date 100% of the Sigma lenses tested that will function with Sigma's own T-cons have also worked with Canon's TCs...

I am surprised to hear that the 150mm Macro will not? Can you clarify?

I can clarify CDS that both my 1.4X and my 2X Canon both Mk2 converters will not physically fit this Sigma lens.:)

TBH I would look a fool wanting to buy a sigma converter when I have both these Canon converters in my possession now..:o

Please ask for clarification from any other member with the same hardware but I can assure you mine will not fit..;)
