Spent 3 days in Monza last weekend. The iconic circuit looked a little bare after seeing it dressed for F1 a few weeks earlier, none the less the Italian fans really get in to their motorsport. The crowds at the bottom of the podium every time an Italian driver won was something to behold.

1. Having stayed off the brakes as long as you dare and having scared yourself - the arrow at the end tells you what to do next

2. Fired up racing driver takes over for his stint and is then held for the compulsory pit stop time. Got to be frustrating if you are the driver, this one was so keen he left half the tyre rubber in the pit lane

3. The media facilities at Monza re impressive. About 1/3 of this building is the press room and there is an overflow area for Togs in the paddock.

4. The pit stops are impressive and have a concentrated urgency to them. Then the guy at the front with the watch says "well done - now sit there for a while"

5. One of the many exquisite Ferraris exits the pit lane. I like to see one of the photos taken of me taking a photo of them ...

6. Markus Pommer put his F2 car on pole. Just before the race he was walking down the pit lane counting the steps from the other grid slots to him on pole. Must be something to it .... ?

7. Dino Zamparelli pits during Qualifying 1. He would have been on pole for race 2 if he hadn't done the right thing and backed off for yellow flags. Others (perhaps) didn't - sounds such a familir story these days ...

Car 50 was not having a good weekend. When they had to pit during the race (and retire) the driver was hammering the wheel so hard his hands must still be bruised.

Thanks for the comments. The light was good most of the weekend and we went for a different look this time. Less coverage of the cars, more focused in "life" at the track.

Thanks Bernardo - I've been changing the web site around a little and lost the last two - sorry about that.

2nd Shot - yes was one of my favourites from the weekend - if one the photo could play you the noise of that tyre receiving such abuse while the Ferrari donkey was yelling more more - just wonderful.
