Hank Williams Sr Boyhood Home - Georgiana, AL

traveling through South AL, took shortcut between Interstates, came across Georgiana AL and while going through the very very small town saw "Hank Williams Sr. Boyhood Home and Museum" sign. Had to stop by and see what that was about.

Sorry for the chain link fence, was traveling light with crop camera and 24-105mm so wasn't able to get in close enough with WA lens to get inside the fencing. Wish it had been white picket fence too.....

Across the street was home to "Hank Williams Sr. Fan Club", included as well.

He is buried in Montgomery, AL, but was not on my travel route, get that some other time.

I would have imagined something a little more rustic. Hank is one of my favorite all time singers. They sure don't make 'em like that anymore.

same here! I was quite shocked to see that his home was so nice, in fact, very nice for the time period he grew up in. I always imagined him growing up in something closer to a shanty. Georgiana, while very small, is quite the nice little town. I took some great shots of train station, gorgeous Churches, etc. Lots of nice homes.
