I have the opportunity to upgrade my 20D to the 5D :D I have the 10-22 lens which I was taking with me on my travels for obvious landscape shots. If I get the 5D I'll be selling the 10-22 which will leave me with the 24-105 to use as a general walkabout lens & as it'll be the widest lens in my kit, also for landscapes.

Have any of you guys 'n' gals any experiences using this setup for landscapes & if so how did you find it?

Thanks for any help.

Paul

24 mm on FF is quite usable. I only rarely went wider in my film days, and just got back from sweeping vistas in New Mexico with my widest being the Sigma 15-30 on the D60/20D, which is a 24 mm equiv. after allowing for crop. I didn't feel any pressing need for wider.

If you enjoy using 10mm on the 20D, you may find 24mm on the 5D is not wide enough, which will lead you to the 16-35.

Just set your 10-22 @ 15mm, and see what you think for your needs..

I know if I way up the benifits of having the 5D over losing a few millimeters at the wide end I'll probably get the 5D. It's all very exciting :D

Before parting with any cash I'm going to try & spend an afternoon with the 5D to see how I get on.
