I have lightroom and looking for a programme mainly for cloning/removing unwanted objects which LR does not do very well.

I know alot of people rate Photoshop but are there any good alternatives out there that are cheaper?

Thanks

I don't know but can well imagine that older versions of Photoshop are still available if you search on the internet. I'm still using PS7*, which is seriously old now, but still does what I need it to do.

Photoshop Elements is a far cheaper, paired down version of PS. Its more of a pure photographers tool than big daddy, which is also aimed at graphic designers and the like so contains things we 'togs are just not interested in.

*Note: Theres a site claiming to offer free downloads of PS7, www.brothersoft.com (external link) I've no idea if they are reliable but thats one I literally bumped into after 60 seconds of looking.

GIMP
Much more affordable than Photoshop - in fact, it's free!

I use it alongside of Lightroom...

I use PhotoLine, likely the most powerful in the second league. Fast, even on this old PC of mine.
PS plugins work flawlessly.

You may also check Wire Worm, the cloning plugin.
