This is a portrait I shot of my niece Lydia. C&C encouraged

nice image, most important thing, I would make sure when doing portraits that the eyes are sharp.

Agree with the focus comments, you can't get away with much shooting portraits

Either OOF, too much skin smoothing and/or too soft in general. Has any USM been applied? I would apply it to the eyes at least. I think it is a combination. I think it is slightly back-focused.

portions of hat are sharper than face, something not right.

Thank you for your comments. Funny how my image is tack sharp in the prints and my monitor and soft on line. Maybe it is the way I resized?

Try uploading it to Flickr instead so there is less compression.

Ok I went back and checked the photo again and as much as I hate to admit it,you guys are right it is simply out of focus. :oops: I have another image that I will post whenever I can figure out how to compress it without destroying it.

Dont compress it, upload it to flickr and let them host it. It allows you to post a bigger image, you still have the pixel limit, but not the file size.
