Long exposure on S95

Hi,

I have a question with regards to long exposures on the S95. Why is it that when I do a 15 second exposure, it stays busy for 15 seconds? Is there a way to disable this feature? I have installed CHDK and that does not seem to help either. It is getting very annoying.

That's the time is takes the camera to process an image with a long a exposure.
Other cameras behave the same - it's not an oddity of the S95 alone.

Perhaps if you disable its noise reduction for long exposures,
it will take less processing time, but then you'd get noisy images.

Thanks for the information. Is there a way to disable the noise reduction feature? When I did astrophotography, we used to compensate for the noise by taking darks.

I looked at the manual, and it seems that there's no way to cancel
noise reduction for long exposures, just a general setting.

Go through the camera menu, try cancelling NR altogether.
