External HD question

I want to copy most items stored on my older Seagate external drive onto a Verbatim external drive. My question is: Would it be 'safe' to plug each drive into a usb on my desktop pc at the same time?
I'd like to then 'copy' each item from the Seagate onto the Verbatim.
I use an ssd for my programs and a large disc for working/ storing photos, etc.

Why do you think that it wouldn't be safe to have both drives plugged in at the same time?

Yup, you're fine. I've got a macbook air with only 1 USB drive. Sometimes I have 4 external drives connected to a hub, no issues.

One of my computers has four internal drives, and three hooked up externally...all at the same time.

I regularly have two externals hooked up at the same time to my laptop. It's not an issue. It's the best way to transfer.

I've been using computers for 12 years, understand how things work, but not being a professional tech, I know just enough to be 'dangerous' if I'm not careful.
