I was going thru a batch of pictures in Adobe Bridge, and I noticed that the exposure mode for every single one said Auto. Am I missing something? As far as I have always known exposure mode meant whatever mode I had my camera in. If I'm not shooting full manual it's either in AV or TV...so why is bridge showing all of them as auto?

Again, if I'm missing some obvious in-my-face piece of info, please come smack me with a hammer.

Modes vs Program

Manual, "green box", scenes, aperture priority or shutter priority are considered exposure "programs". programs are what youre thinking about when you think of the term "modes" from the mode dial.

Exposure modes defines whether one or more of the exposure parameters such as iso, shutter or aperture is being determined by the camera. from what i understand, there are 3 exposure modes, "off", "auto" and "bracket". in each situation, it describes whether or not the camera is determining your exposure settings.

I went and looked again and they vary between "Auto" and "Manual".

I'm guessing the software defines all the exposure modes other than "manual" as "auto" rather than giving you Av, Tv, etc.

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

That's what I'm guessing.
It's nothing important, just something that was bothering me lol
