Reposting this from another Forum I belong to...Thought I'd share my recent AT&T experiences with you folks as well....

So yeah, I've alluded to this a few times already but I decided I'd make one rant all about how much AT&T has mucked things up in the months since I got my Nexus:

1. When I got my Nexus I went to an AT&T store to be honest and make sure I was provisioned correctly for it, In doing this the kid removed the special 20% discount my account gets because of a relative, He also removed my voicemail completely

2. When I went to get the voicemail issue fixed at a different store the employee was a rude condescending...you know what... about it, Blamed my issues on the fact I had a Nexus, Thought I didnt understand the difference between an iPhone and an Android device and did not listen to me at all when i said "Voicemail was working fine until the guy at the other store went in and updated the account info, He removed voicemail from my account" Nope, Apparently I needed to get the ATT Messaging app, And since i cant download the ATT messaging app, its thus the Nexus' fault because its "Not approved ATT" hardware" He repeatedly got nasty with me when i pointed out Voicemail worked just fine when ATT thought I had an iPhone... I told him that according to ATT I no longer have a voicemail inbox..AT ALL and that would be why its not working... But nope, I have a Nexus, Which doesnt work on ATT (Please note I think this idiot was the manager..and he was the single RUDEST person I have EVER dealt with in ANY store, He was the WORST CS experience I've ever had)

I fixed this by calling customer service directly, Who proceeded to say that my account did not have voicemail on it, Which is what I repeatedly attempted to tell the idiot at the store.. Problem corrected fair enough, but not after I had already wanted to strangle someone in a store

3. So because of some coverage issues and because of the LTE rollout here I decided I'd give the Galaxy S3 a try, After using it a few days I noted I really didnt get any better coverage(Which was apparently a Network issue all along, iPhones must have good antennas..), and even worse, my LTE stunk, I got about 5mbps or so on LTE, Which is exactly what I got on my HSPA+ Nexus, if i could get LTE at all where I live and in the immediate area (I asked about this at the store mind you, The kid said yeah i should be good but Im apparently on the VERY edge of the LTE area.. So it flickers on and off.. which means my battery life ticked down visibly as it was connecting and disconnecting rapidly, While i could disable LTE why bother when my Nexus does HSPA+ just as good)

So I returned it and in doing so the employee (Who was very nice and actually pretty smart, So im guessing he just made a mistake here) completely removed my smartphone data plan... my Grandfathered UNLIMITED Data Plan.. which I didnt realize at the time (The guy at the store SHOULD have verified when he put everything "back" that he had put everything "back" correctly..)

Queue me getting an automated text from ATT at 11:30 the next night saying "Your Smartphone needs a Data Package, One has automatically been added to your account"

Oh -bleep- no... I do a quick check and yep, My Unlimited Data is no more! Replaced by a 3gb Tiered Data Plan...

Queue me first cursing repeatedly before calling up AT&T and chatting with customer service about the issue, CS cannot restore it, but supposedly the Case Department can, Got a case number and i SHOULD get my unlimited data back sometime before next week...

Still shouldnt have happened and while it SHOULD be fixed Im not too happy it takes a WEEK to correct this mistake :/

Heres the issue, From my understanding, AT&T and Verizon are the only two providers with any coverage around here, and I'm really not sure Verizon treats people any better, Sprint's Data Network here is atrocious (200-400kbps) and theres no word on LTE rollout... T-Mobile I've heard conflicting reports on, Either its REALLY good, or you have no coverage...So I'm kind of feeling "stuck" at the moment...
