The confusion between T-stops and f-stops

We've known about T-stops for decades and decades.

It makes a great deal of difference to professional cinema where multiple cameras are photographing a scene that will be spliced together in the final product--you will find those lenses marked with their T-stops. It may make a difference in DSLR video if/when using multiple cameras and lenses in a single scene becomes common.

Otherwise, it's not that big a deal because in practical use, there isn't usually a choice that makes a major difference for a given lens mount.
