I was in a local calumet location and checked out this tripod. It felt pretty sturdy, and the price is nice.

Has anyone had any experience with their brand of tripods/ballheads, etc..?

I dare say a rebranded tripod. I have a Triopo that has many identical aspects (different model but same decals, castings, etc).
Take a look around and you might find more options (certainly seems to be better pricing than Calumet) http://www.ebay.com …ipods&hash=item19c5c42284 (external link) (again not identical).
FWIW - My Triopo has worked flawlessly to date!

The look pretty good to me, I'm considering one of their ballheads. Most appear to be copies of Manfrotto. Calumet is an international retailer, very large company! 30% off right now too.

Not with their tripods but, I have been using one of their graphite monopods for years and consider it very highly!
