Look at the difference a day makes. The first shot was taken December 23rd on a very overcast, wet and dull day. The second was shot a few days later about 30 minutes after sunrise. For you Ottawa fellas that haven't seen it yet, this guy (or gal) is a treat to watch and well worth the effort trying to locate it...

Both are exceptional captures. The second is outstanding. The sunlight in the 2nd shot really brings out a much warmer tonality. Nice work!

Well Dan you have done it again. Both shots are exceptional with the second being a real stunner.....WOW. This should shake out those winter blahs.

I have been looking for this owl since the first day I found him ( with Blacburnian's excellent directions I might add) and doubled my efforts when the sun was shining. I found him again today ( but no sun) . At least when I look at your second shot I now know what he really looks like in full light. Wonderful tones and warm light in that second shot....very alive....Excellent work!!
