Looks like it could be from the Sahara! Or the moon. Nice lighting too.

I like it.
It brings to mind the Bruce Springsteen ballad "Walk Like a Man"

" . . . . tracing your footsteps in the sand, trying to walk like a man . . . ."

Backwards?

Why would I walk backwards?

just because your footsteps aren't "reversed" .

Of course it might have others footsteps around the frame of the picture and other possibilites like someone els footsteps, not yours ...
But by the position of the steps I got the impression that it do not look like a footstep that you´ve left, it looks like a step that you´re going to leave. If you know what I mean.

ps: I´m not sure if I made myself clear.

They're my foot-steps, I found a clean bit of sand and made a gentle walk across.

Then I framed them through the viewfinder so that they were isolated from anything else around them

Very nice shot, lovely light and contrasting colours with the footsteps exposing the yellow of the sand........did you happen to take any with the steps diagonally accross the frame?
Roger.
