My daughter has inherited my serious face, when asked to be photographed she just cant possibly manage anything that resembles a natural smile even if she's happy...It either becomes a serious look like this or a stoopid cheesy smug grin that looks sooooo un-natural !!

If you've been bitten by the photo bug you'll be getting a long lens at some point.
When that happens, you'll be able to catch your (cute) daughter from a distance when she is smiling with friends or something.
...it's always worked for me. :)

Cheers

Steve

This was taken with the kit zoom and then I cropped and removed some unwanted pimples... I had it printed at a local printer with a xerox on glossy A3 and the colours came out superb - her gingery hair and blue top and eyes look great so was very happy with it.

Her coloring is beautiful.... one day you will catch the right smile but for now, this is wonderful as it is.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

That's great advice. It worked for me as well.
