Would like to hear C&C on the conversions and any pointers on how to get a better conversion using Elements 3.0

They do look much better in a TIFF and larger format. Probably should just get a webste so I could link my pictures in here with a better quality than using the forum to host.

Just in case anyone was wondering, these were taken at a railroad museum in Perris, CA. Thomas the Tank Engine was there that day too! (Those with kids will understand) I might be able to post a couple of them if anyone is interested.

Cool train photos.
I don't have Elements 3.0 but adding a little more contrast I think would provide some punch to the images.

Thanks, I'll look into it, but I did try that and I didn't really see much change. More than likely because I'm not doing something right. I'll try again.

I like them both but the first one really grabbed me. Any Thomas photos would be appreciated.

Very nice shots. I usually up the contrast on my photos as well when I work with black and white. It usualy works out well.

Thanks everyone for the comments. The helps are appreciated and I found a good online training coarse that I'm going to take to help get me more adept at this program.
Oh, and here are a few pictures of Thomas himself! Don't tell the kids, but he doesn't actually pull anything, there's always another engine at the end of the train that actually drives everyone. He does blow steam and his whistle is VERY loud! The kids believe it, and that's all the matters!
