Hilarious if true. I couldn't care less about DXO mark scores, but I'm amused by the rabid fervor with which they're debated.

Funny how every sensor they tested and rated highly (35mm) is supposed to produce better looking images, yet I haven't seen a single picture from those highly rated sensors that look better than anything from Canon's latest offerings. I've downloaded and processed quite a few RAW files from the D800 series and while the DR and detail is nice, I never end up with a better looking result. The colors just don't seem to want to pop up as much without making the whole image look strange.

DXO would be much more valid if robots were the ones buying and using cameras...:lol:

Unfortunately, I think a lot of the hardcore gearheads think more like robots than artists.:lol:

Hardly surprising - the D4 isn't an Exmor.

If you look at the hands on 1DX reviews from D4 nikon users even they like it better.

Canon Rumors says: "I was sent an email claiming the results of DXOMark’s testing of the Canon EOS-1D X. I have not yet seen it on their site, so don’t take these numbers as official until they’re up."

Apparently if you send Canon Rumors an email, they'll post it.

With NEF files you have to completely change your workflow. Majority of users who switch to Nikon come back to Canon bcoz' most users don't know jack about color managment and processing. ;) Canon is user friendly in this regard.

Gee, thanks for the put-down... :(

I've looked at a lot of other people's D800 shots who should know what they are doing and don't really see better colors, ever. DR and detail, yes, but color, no. :p

Plus, am I supposed to praise Nikon for making me jump through hoops just to get something that looks good?

I'm not putting you down. I'm being general in my point. Yes, there are users images that are plain and dull. Maybe that's what the user likes. I'm not asking you to praise Nikon either but, in order to get the best from NEFs one must change your workflow. Also, you can make a profile look like Canon by using a ColorChecker Passport. ;)
