what is the difference between the first 17-50 VC di 2 and the 17-50 VC XR DR series?


6D,70D, 24-70 f/2.8 L, 70-200 f/2.8 L, 100 macro L, Tokina 11-16 f2.8, 50 f/1.8,Konova slider, 430EXii ,GoPro3 Black,Dji Phantom quad Helicopter.

What? As far as I know there is just one- Tamron 17-50 VC SP AF Di LD IF II


Canon 7D w/grip, Canon SX30 IS (modified for IR), Rokinon 14mm, Canon 24-105 L IS, Sigma 50mm, Canon 70-200 F/2.8 L IS II, Canon 100mm L IS, Kenko 1.4x Pro DG, Canon 2x II extender, Yongnuo YN-565EX, Induro CT414 with Induro BHL-3 and GHB-A

The first Tamron has Vibration Compensation -- Canons Equivalent of IS or Image Stabilization
The Second Tamron does not have VC.

I believe the Tamron with VC may have a bit better auto-focusing system as well (more quiet).

post links to the lenses you are talking about...

there are two tamrons, one with VC, and one without...you list two lenses with VC
